My iPhone had a crack on the digitizer, but it never affected the functionality of the phone.  One day I had a software issue with the phone where the phone would automatically shut down. It wasn’t the first time that it did that, so I was concerned about the longevity of my phone.  And I still had 40 days left on my Apple warranty.  So I made a mistake #1.  I thought if I can get the digitizer replaced by a third party I can bring my phone to Apple and ask them to replace the phone because of the software issues.  I knew that if Apple saw the crack, they might attribute the negligence to the malfunction of the phone and not help me out.  So this is where this crook comes in (mistake #2).  I told him the situation, big mistake #3!! My guess is that he thought that if Apple was going to give me a new phone, I won’t need this LCD!!!!  He stole my original LCD and replaced it with a noticeably crappy LCD, horrible picture.  I brought it to Apple and the first thing they said was, “was the screen replaced?”, which I answered truthfully and subsequently that negated any warranty that I had remaining with Apple.  I asked Apple why the screen is so blurry, does that have to do with the software. She said no, and said that there is something wrong with my LCD.  Let me make one thing clear.  There was NEVER a problem with my LCD, the graphics were always crystal clear.  What I have now is a blurry screen and it flickers!!  Come on, if you own something that you use every day and all of a sudden something is not right about it, YOU KNOW!!!!  I know that this was NOT my original LCD.  I came back to confront this scoundrel and we went back and forth and the only thing I remembered him saying over and over was “PROVE IT”.  I subsequently called the police and they arrived and did a police report.  The next step for me is to take this crook to court to get my money back and hopefully charge him criminally for fraud and theft.  I am not done with you, you thief!!

Evolv Health Scam

December 9, 2009

This is a brief post based on my personal experience with Evolv Health, a network marketing company based in Dallas who is pushing a water based beverage with miracle claims.  I have to admit, when I first saw Trey White making claims that this Archaea Active formula has been researched by the renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC), I was hooked. Specifically, in his video, he said “science backed up by documented studies from the country’s top ranked…MDACC”  The fact of the matter was that they simply paid MDACC a fee to conduct a simple test on the anti inflammatory functions of lipids.  The results came back inconclusive, but it didn’t stop them from making claims that this water is associated with cancer and MDACC.  I spent countless hours pushing people to sign up for this amazing opportunity, only to find out myself that the water didn’t have any special effect.  There were no published active ingredients on the bottle, leading me to believe that it was nothing more than water.  I also based this on three weeks of continuous drinking of this water, and finally realized that I was hustled by slick willy.  Besides the huge cost of the water, averaging about $3 a bottle shipped, there were no physical benefits that came with drinking the water.  Sure I wasn’t as thirsty as I normally was, but I wasn’t going to waste $3/bottle on water.  The bottom line is that if you are thinking about joining this pyramid, you will lose. Go to the store and pay $1/gallon and save yourself a lot of headache and money.

The simple things in Life

December 4, 2009

The simple things in life are often the best things in life, and sometimes we don’t take notice.  Raindrops outside our windows while we are sleeping; a text from a loved one to let you know that they are thinking of you; your 5 year old waking you up in the middle of the night scared and wants to join you in bed; a cupcake mysteriously appears on your desk from an admirer; a movie that you always wanted to watch is on.  These are all examples of many things that happen in our day that makes us smile.  Take notice of the simple things, it can always be recreated, but every experience is different, enjoy it while it last.
